Jena is back to School and John is working full time (plus some). Notch is still growing and being a wild beast dog but still mostly well behaved. More details and pics to come soon!

Since the last post…. John Graduated with his B.S.N. and works full time as a ER Nurse, Jena has 1 year left till she is a RN also! We made it to the Charlotte Whitewater park a few times to get in a kayak workout. We have been paddling the Jackson Duo (also commonly known as the divorce boat).

John Sr., came to visit for a long weekend. Good times!! We headed to the Cheoah River west of Cherokee, NC, fired off a few .38 Special and .40 rounds a the indoor shooting range (as seen in video…), and hung out with family. Dinner at Pete and Anne’s was Great!!

Jena and I had the chance to spend a whole day together recently. We cruised to Asheville, strolled around down town, and had dinner at the Asheville Pizza and brewing Company. A altered picture of my glass of beer:

Although the Spring semester is in full swing, other side projects take hold… The latest project that we have been putting a lot of time in to is a nursing website NursingKnow. Check it out, “Like it” on Facebook, and register for free on the site for the additional stuff.

Lots of Snow and Ice here in the Southeast.. Both our classes have been canceled for the last 3 days. This would not have been the case in New England but it has been nice to have more time together to get things organized and play with Notch.
With time off, Jena, Notch, and I were able to head to Linville gorge to do a little hiking and take some pictures. Notch loves to Hike!!! (well, run in circles around us…). we brought a Nikon camera from the mid 1960′s which was recently brought back to life with a new battery for the light meter. The pictures WOULD have been amazing from the first day, but I neglected to release the film before attempting to rewind the roll! So, as result, I exposed the whole thing and ruined it all. That prompted our second trip to Linville the morning after at 5:30 am with cousin Philip. These pictures came out great. The pics below were taken with our digital cameras. The Film was great and will be scanned when we get a chance. Nothing like quality black and white film.
Jena and I have a little time off between semesters… Time off = cleaning and organizing the house and doing a few projects that we have not had time to do. Hiking with Notch, visiting with good friends, dinner together every night. Here are a few pictures of recent.

Jena and I have been very very busy with School, Thanksgiving break (Jena went to Holland and I went to CT), getting ready for Final exams and then to drive to Connecticut to spend some holiday time with the family. Here are a few pictures form the last month…

Notch the beast dog is growing so fast. He loves the fall here in NC especially crunchy leaves that he loves to roll in and eat… Here is a pic of Jena and Notch at the park this week. Its nice to have alittle time to be in teh outdoors!!

Jena and I were invited to the Buffalo Camp and Bella Vista to hang with Pete, Anne, and Philip and see the King himself!! Although we did see him last year, this year was better! Jena was lucky enough to be serenaded by the King with a song from teh movie Ghost, Unchained Melody. Here are a few pics with more to come..

Jena and I found the time to swing through CT and visit our families for 2 days before heading back to the South. These Pics say it all..
Jena and I traveled to Bethel, Maine for the wedding of Jeremy Cass and Danielle Martin. An awesome time was had by all those in attendance. The wedding was amazingly beautiful with crisp blue skies and contrasting sparse clouds, warm temperatures, delicious food, tasty drinks, an honest ceremony that joined Jeremy and D. as husband and wife, seeing old friends, and meeting new ones! Jena shot for the first time ever today!!! First she fired off 50 .22 rounds on a Walther pistol then she fired off some rounds on our Glock 23 (.40 Cal.)

Hiked the Gragg Prong today with Jena, Annie, and Notch. Super Low water was cool to see all the rapids, or lack there of with the rocks below. We went for a swim with Notch in some of the waterfall pools and then made it to the Dragg Strip (90 footer).

Annie visited us from CT the past two days!! Annie and John went to the shooting range down the road to ‘pop a cap’ in some paper targets with the new Glock while Jena caught a few ZZzzzz’s before another night shift.

Jena and I have both been super busy lately. Between work, school, Notch the beast dog, and both of us cruising around the East coast, we have not seen much of each other in the past two weeks. Jena is actually in Disney World as I type playing with Sammy and family. The Disney pics to come soon. But for now, i’ll add on some photos of the last 2 weeks including pics form my trip to CT for the Groton fireworks with Uncle BJ as welll as some Wallace family reunion pics from this past weekend in Blacksburg, VA.

Cruised to Isle of Palms, South Carolina to spend some time with Jena’s Family including the ever cute Moxie and Gardner. That fact that we were staying at a gorgeous beach house didn’t hurt either.. Note to self: do NOT utilize old expired sunblock; it does NOT work well… Cousin Kimmy and Dan, as well as the rest of the family were gracious to let us spend the night and hang on the beach with them the next day. Of course there was also Dance Party 2010 in the living room before headed home.
Jena and I are super busy with summer school and work… What a crazy 2 months. Here is a picture of our puppy Notch!!
